Strategic Coordinator for Climate Adaptation
Are you motivated by working strategically, coordinating, and enhancing knowledge together with other stakeholders? Do you have an interest in societal issues and want to work on matters that make a real difference? Then we are curious to learn more about you.
What does the role entail?
In this role, you will coordinate the County Administrative Board's regional mission to adapt society to a changing climate. You will drive efforts to increase knowledge about climate change and its consequences, and stimulate preventive measures through dialogue and collaboration.
You will develop and create relevant knowledge bases used in physical planning, environmental work, and crisis preparedness. The role also includes contributing to internal preparations of cases where the climate adaptation perspective and climate-related risks are of great importance, for example, in work with comprehensive and detailed plans.
The work is conducted externally in collaboration with the municipalities of the county, regional actors, and other government agencies, as well as internally within the County Administrative Board. You will be part of a team with other employees working on climate adaptation and the Flood Ordinance, and you will be placed in the unit for climate and risk. The work also involves broad internal collaboration as climate adaptation is included in other areas of operation.
Are you the one we are looking for?
- For this role, we want you to have relevant academic education or other equivalent education that the employer deems relevant.
- Broad competence in the field of climate adaptation through education or work experience.
- Experience working with strategic climate adaptation and risk issues.
- Good analytical skills and the ability to drive processes in the development of governing documents.
- Good collaboration skills and the ability to capture and utilize the broad competence available both within the County Administrative Board and among external actors.
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as well as to lead meetings and seminars.
As a person, you are analytical and strategic, while also being results-oriented and responsible. You take initiatives, collaborate well with others, and have an unpretentious attitude. You have the ability to see the big picture, make priorities, and adapt when circumstances change.
We place great importance on personal qualities.
As an employee at the County Administrative Board, you need to:
- Be able to make decisions based on a holistic view considering multiple perspectives.
- Understand that a central role for the County Administrative Board is to make trade-offs between different interests.
- Be able to prioritize and adapt to work with new tasks or in new contexts.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Competence in working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Experience working within the Flood Ordinance, with risk management plans, or equivalent.
- Competence in urban planning to promote climate adaptation.
- Experience working with climate-related risks in physical planning.
- Experience working in the public sector, preferably in a municipality or county administrative board.
- Experience leading processes, workshops, and seminars.
